Richmond Care Home Go All Electric
Efficiency the key for the switch from gas
When Richmond Care Villages, part of private healthcare provider BUPA, were looking for a contractor to design & install the kitchen in their new £35 million development in Witney, they called on Devon-based Falcon premier dealer GS Group, who have vast experience in the care sector.
Richmond Care Villages have traditionally installed gas equipment in their kitchens across their estate, but GS and Falcon were able to convert them to using all electric equipment for this new site. Karl Jones, GS Director, explains “We’ve worked on a number of care sector kitchens over the years and more and more of them have chosen to go down the induction route, mainly due to the energy efficiency of these units but also with induction the reduced time it takes to clean after a lunch or dinner service. We were sure Richmond would appreciate the benefits of this and so it proved. When we demonstrated the benefits of induction over gas, they were keen to install this in their new villages, with the improvement in kitchen working environment due to the minimal heat emissions, low risk of burns to staff & the energy saving credentials the client was particularly impressed”.
“We were able to come up with the ideal cookline of electric modules that ideally suited their needs. This included two rise and fall grills, a bratt pan, 2 x filtration fryers and 3 separate induction models along with ambient cupboards which we suited together using the Dominator Plus.”
