Quality Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team.

As Quality Engineer you will inspect materials, equipment, processes, and product reporting on quality measures, developing quality control systems and determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures and liaise with relevant external organisations where required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring product quality.
  • Carry out product and process audits, with the aim of driving quality improvements.
  • Identify and record vendor-supplied parts issues & assign corrective action to supplier.
  • Driving issues to root cause(s), corrective action and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards.
  • Support the site quality management system.
  • Improve quality of products by use of Visual audits and other KPI measures in assembly and manufacturing
  • Identify any additional costs incurred due to quality issues.
  • Inspect parts at goods-in as required including sample approval & complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Quality expert and advisor for supporting functions and support shop floor quality. improvement projects.
  • Manage concessions as required.
  • Producing quality reports, data analysis and internal quality performance monitoring.
  • Conduct supplier audits and analysis of supplier quality performance.
  • Support supply chain with managing the approved vendor list.
  • Administer the production test equipment calibration process.

 

Experience required:

  • Good knowledge and experience of quality processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge of gas and electric safety standards and testing protocols.
  • Very good communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • Be driven and enthusiasm to continually improve product quality levels.
  • Enjoy detail and solving technical problems.
  • Good motivator who can engage and drive improvement through others.
  • Strong individual but operates well within a team.
  • Flexible and open minded.
  • A related engineering qualification or relevant experience.
  • Be familiar with quality tools i.e. SQCDP, Pareto, 8D, (Root Cause Analysis) 5Why, CAPA, Fish Bone, etc.
  • Have a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Understanding of product and component approval legislation.
  • Good understanding and experience of Microsoft packages.
