graduate product development engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a bright and dynamic graduate engineer to be part of the design and development of new products.

The role will be central to the expansion of our product portfolio including hydrogen gas appliances to meet emerging market demand. A hands-on attitude proactive approach is required in this exciting role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop commercial catering equipment with a focus on gas and dual fuel appliances to the UK and EU required legislation
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of required legislation and provide impact statements to the business on future legislation changes.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing products to ensure they continue to meet existing legislation.
  • Become an SME for future hydrogen products.
  • Support the development of products and ensure they meet project timescales, functionality, and serviceability requirements.
  • Support the testing and collection of data for analysis and interpretation then produce technical reports with recommendations.
  • Develop and produce manufacturing test procedures, user, and installation documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with internal project team members throughout the project life cycle: Marketing, Design, Production, Technical Services.
  • Design and develop appliance control systems considering remote monitoring capability for future and existing Falcon products.
  • Work with external organisations such as test agencies, component suppliers and trial sites.
  • Where applicable, utilise electrical drawing package (Solidworks SD electrical) to produce wiring schematics and production drawings for gas control systems.

 

The successful applicant shall have:

  • BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or other engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid and thermal dynamics.
  • Understanding of engineering materials and complex engineering systems.
  • Self-motivation and drive whilst working well in a team environment
  • Strong analytical mind and excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Knowledge in any of the following is desirable:

  • Gas engineering experience
  • Basic electrical and electronic control systems
  • CFD Modelling
  • Design for manufacture

 

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual that possesses the drive and enthusiasm to enable the rapid advancement of products in the design, development, and test stages of projects.
